This page gives you guidance on how to travel to the start of your walk - and of course from the finish!

Why not walk to the start when it is near your home? Some of the Blue routes may suggest a good route. If you are walking or cycling, get a copy of the Coventry Council's "Coventry Cycle Map and Guide" free leaflet - it contains a map of Coventry, marked to show routes to get you to you destination using the quietest, safest, greenest routes, and other useful information.
An electronic version of the "
Coventry Cycle Map and Guide" is
available, or visit the
Sustainable Transport Team Home Page to learn
about the background and other work in hand by the same team.
Why not travel by bus? There are plenty of bus routes in Coventry, and one is bound to take you to near where you want to walk. The only problems are:
Take up the challenge to overcome these. For a start:
Travel Coventry
which provides a comprehensive network of local bus services in and around
Coventry in conjunction with Travel West Midlands which serves the other major
cities and towns of the West Midlands.
Travel West
Midlands route map and timetable guide. This is an excellent
source of information for most routes, but sometimes out of date for Travel
Coventry routes.
National Express routefinder for services going from
Coventry in the direction you want. (Hint: try from Coventry to Warwickshire
to get a full list of options to N, E & S !)
http://www.centro.org.uk. They now have aroute
planner facility, and lots of suggestions of how they will improve the
service.
The train service from Coventry to Canley Halt and Tile Hill is good.
There is hope that the plan to build a new station on the line to Nuneaton
to serve the Arena is eventually revived - this could prove useful.

If you still decide to use your car, I have indicated some of the extra Car Parking areas. Some of these are small, but often empty. Some serve a park, and associated playing fields so may be full on Saturday &/or Sunday afternoon, but deserted at other times.
Street parking is possible where car parks are not available. Be considerate though, don't offend the residents, and don't block the roads. Park a bit further away if needed - maybe considering your return route.
