Prologis Park (also sometimes still known as Keresley Park, the name used before construction began in 1999) is a new business park under construction, but to the north of the business park is new parkland and an extensive Nature Area / Countryside Park.

Worth a visit"The British Midlands" Prologis Park page included the statement "Prologis Park Coventry is a 300-acre site for high quality business space with rail freight facility. Substantial structural landscaping has been developed on the site. Parkland, ponds, lakes, footpaths and cycleways link employment areas, providing an ideal working environment." The western end of the Country Park is open grassland between the retained hedgerows and mature trees. It has been enhanced by the construction of good paths, and two small copses near the Pilgrims road entrance, and a strip of woodland along the northern boundary. As you can see from the notice, it is owned by Prologis, but I understand it is expected to remain part of the Country Park for the foreseeable future. The eastern end has been developed as a nature area, retaining hedgerows, ditches, ponds and mature trees, but also developing two lakes and many areas of new woodland and shrubs. A good path has been build which meanders across the site, and numerous grass paths give access to the rest. See Map12 N3-O4 for location and details of main paths. Note that the pattern of grass paths is largely set by the hedges and ditches. Frequently there is a path both sides of the hedge, with access between them only practical at the bridge built for the main path. In other cases old field gateways have been retained, allowing access between the paths. The map is marked to indicate the hedgerows/ditches, and the new woodland areas(in brighter green). Well worth a visit.
Historic Notes: Prologis business park is built
on the site of the former Coventry Colliery. Sinking of Coventry
Colliery started in 1911 - the associated rail branch was built in
1919. Coventry Colliery, the city's last pit, closed by British Coal
in 1993, and was taken over by Coal Investments plc in 1994 as a private
pit, one of the first privatised pits in the UK. Coal Investments
plc, sadly, went out of business in 1996. The site was partly used
for the ill-fated "Homefire" smokeless fuel plant c.1964-2000. The

An excellent area for dogs. Open grassland, lakes, ponds and hedgerows. At present the newly planted copses are fenced, but theres still lots to explore, and many other dogs to meet.
