Hi All,
What wonderful weather we had this Summer!
Good for walking, but not good for keeping up with web-site update plans.
On the first anniversary of Coventry Walks site going live (21-July), the only
change I made was to update the "Hits History" page - I had meant to have
completed some enhancements users had requested, and send a
newsletter.
With cooler (and even a few wetter) days recently I have had a purge on
catching up. So for those who haven't been keeping up with "latest" news,
I summarise key changes since the Nov-2003 newsletter:
2. Added an
information
page about "A Coventry Way CIRCULAR WALKS" book which is now
published.
4. Drafted information about best walking areas "
just
outside Coventry". The draft is nearing completion - your
corrections/improvements are invited.
5. I have also made progress on technical improvements. I have
reformatted
all pages on the site to use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets, which should work
consistently in all modern browsers) and to replace the "frames" with a within
page header (Thus ensuring visitors who arrive from a search engine, or from
their own bookmarks/favourites, or from links in e-mails will see
proper navigation links). More optimisation work is in progress. I
also added sitemeter
facilities to all pages, so I (and you if you are interested) can see the
patterns of use of this site.
6. I have added lots more little extras. See the
news
archive for the list of most significant items.
Many of these improvements have only been possible due to feedback from
users. Please keep your ideas coming. In particular, let me
know what you would like to see added and/or improved on the site.
Regards
PS - This newsletter is addressed To:
newsletter.distribution @ coventry-walks.org.uk (which gets forwarded to me so I feel it worked!) with Bcc:
"Distribution list containing all your addresses". You should NOT see all
these addresses, and you may not even see your own (depending on your mail
system). This method respects your privacy rights, and avoids you having
to read past a long list of addresses. I trust this works
OK.
