Future Plans

Future Plans include:

1. Keep adding to and updating data already here!  I still keep becoming aware of areas I have not yet covered, (e.g. some of those listed under "Nature Sites") and all will improve as better information becomes available.
     
2. A Coventry Way Circular Walks book.  Add references, and mark on my maps. (Completed during May-2003).
    
3. Include reference to the full set of Conservation Areas (completed by 8-Mar-2002), and links to the Coventry City Council brochures covering each (All drafts done by 8-Mar-2002).   Many have been updated, rest in progress.
      
4. Add to the "All Photos" page the extra pictures recently added to the site but still missing in the Picture Gallery (Most of backlog added 30-Sep-2002, and since then I've tried to add new photos as I publish them, BUT needs checking)
    
5. Improve "Look and feel", consistency, and consistent look in most browsers by updating site to use CSS stylesheets.  (all pages now CSS based; a few optimised; will optimise others progressively ...).
    
6. Identify which areas are most suitable for walking with dogs.  (First issue published, based on input from the people who suggested this enhancement - see Good for Dogs ).
    
7. Add references to best walking areas "just over the border" and/or "just off the maps".  (See "Just Outside Coventry" for background - results now added to Home Page.)
     
    
8. Improve background information pages covering:

Acknowledgements and Thanks (initial version published - needs detail adding) Links - where to look for more information (initial version published - needs detail adding) Other?  (depends on user requests etc.)

Other possible suggestions include:

1. Mark Public Houses which are near walks (I have added a few extra beyond those which already appear on the base maps, but difficult to know where to draw the line!)
    
2. Mark Bus Stops which are near walks (but difficult to keep up to date; for now I do not plan to do this)
    
3.  Add "too many awkward styles" category - for example on the circular route from the Fox and Hounds PH in Keresley via Bunsons Wood and back via Manor Farm there must be more than a dozen styles.  One option would be to show stiles on the maps?  Any views from others?  One view is that it soon will not be necessary - Coventry Council hope to replace most stiles with Kissing Gates within the next year or two.
