Transcript from information board published on the site, with updates where needed.
Tocil Pools were designed and constructed in 1991 by the National Rivers Authority (now the Environmental Agency) on the site of a previous pasture field. The pools are managed by Warwick University under the guidance of the 25 year management plan produced by the Environmental Agency. The pools retain and condition water discharged from adjacent land, from Coventry's urban run off and treated water discharge which is transported through the site by the Canley Brook.
The pools were designed and are managed to create an area with a rich, varied habitat.

Together with Tocil Wood and Gibbet Hill Wood, these are lovely areas for dogs, no need for leads, no stiles, lots of rabbits, lovely woods and open areas, small stream running through with lakes and ducks/geese within the University campus, easy access for the car. You do have to keep dogs on a lead if you go into the actual University grounds.
