This page lists a selection of Events and Activities taking place at Coombe Country Park (and some other venues in Coventry area) over the next few months.  If you would like more information on any of these items please contact Tracy Smith.

Sunday 13 January : Coombe Country Park : Volunteer ranger day - Reed bed management

Join the rangers to manage excessive reed growth down at Coombe Pool and Longford park and help to look after the local wildlife.
Time: 10am - 3pm
Cost: Free, refreshments provided
Suitability: 16 and over
 

Saturday 26 January : Coombe Country Park, Wainbody Woods, Willenhill and Tilehill : The big garden bird watch

Be part of this annual event to record and photograph the UK's winter birds. Rangers and volunteers will be on hand to help you identify the birds.
Time: 10am-11.30am at Coombe & Wainbody 1.30pm - 3.00pm Willenhill & Tilehill

Saturday 2 February : Coombe Country Park : Tell us a story

Celebrate storytelling week by visiting Coombe and hearing stories from today and the past.
Time: 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm

Sunday 10 February : Coombe Country Park : Volunteer ranger day - Rhodibash

Join the rangers  at Coombe in the fight to control an alien shrub. Rhododendron is threatening to take over the park, with your help the rangers will be fighting back removing as much of the shrub as they can.
Time: 10am - 3pm
Cost: Free, refreshments provided
Suitability: 16 and over
 

Tuesday 12 February : Coombe Country Park and Longford Park : Feathered friends - Bird box and feeder building

Come and join the rangers at Coombe and Longford to learn all about the birds in your garden then build your own bird box or feeder to take home.
Time: 10.30am - 12pm and 1pm - 2.30pm
Cost: Feeders £2.50 and Boxes £4.50

Enjoy a candlelit cruise along Coventry canal with your someone special, soppy love songs and a rose all included

Sunday 2 March : Coombe Country Park : Volunteer ranger day - Fishery maintenance

Come along and help the rangers to carry out maintenance repairs to the fishery and see a part of the park not open to the public.

Sunday 20 March : Coombe Country Park : Den Building

Have fun playing outdoors in Coombes woodlands whilst learning to build a shelter able to withstand extreme weather conditions.

Friday 25 March : Coombe Country Park, Longford Park and Primrose Hill : Make an Easter bonnet

Join in an exciting arts and craft session decorating your very own Easter bonnet. Don't forget to visit the Memorial Park Thursday 1 April to enter your bonnet into a competition. Prizes will be awarded.

Come and fool around at the Memorial Park and join in our April Fools celebrations, bring your bonnets made at the parks over the week and take part in judging. Prizes will be awarded.

Wednesday 23 April : Wainbody Wood : Fungal Foray

Join the rangers at Wainbody wood and discover the range of fungi that appear in this semi ancient natural woodland in the spring, and then enjoy a fugal pate for lunch.

Celebrate national welly day by following the rangers on an exciting sensory trail.

Sunday 27 April : Coombe Country Park : Welly wanging and planters

Come along for a family fun day at Coombe. Make planters out of recycled wellies in the morning then in the afternoon join us for Coombes first welly wanging competition. There will be set age groups and various prizes for the winners.
Time: 10.30am - 12pm and 1pm to 2.30pm
Cost: £2.50 for the planters and £2.00 entry into competition

Sunday 27 April : Coombe Country Park : Fungal Foray

Join the rangers for a fabulous walk around Coombes woodlands discovering some of the amazing fungi that appears in the spring. At the end of the walk stop off at the Herons Tavern for a hot bowl of fungi soup and roll, all included.

Bring your little walker for a toddle along the Coventry Canal. The tow path is nice and flat for their little legs, stop and feed the ducks and then take the narrow boat back.
