The Allesley Park Walled Garden Group is a voluntary group whose aim is to restore Allesley Park Walled Garden as an authentic 18th century kitchen garden which is part of Coventry's heritage, and to use it as an educational resource for the people of Coventry. Activities include: Heritage gardening sessions, usually on a Wednesday and Saturday morning; Research into what would be put into gardens & eighteenth century recipes for fruit & vegetables; Outings to other similar gardens, nurseries etc.; Talks by outside agencies on their various garden schemes. The group gives talks and attends events. There is a shop on the third Saturday of every month (May to October) selling vegetables, honey, homemade jams etc.

The Group are busy applying for funding to expand all their activities, most particularly those around healthy eating/education. If you are involved with a school and think we could provide an outdoor and fun activity, do get in touch. We are a friendly crowd with volunteers from all age groups and welcome anyone who wants to get involved. You don't have to make a regular commitment (though we love it if you can) nor do you have to do loads of heavy-duty digging (though think of the benefit to those stomach muscles). There are all sorts of tasks to be done, both in the garden and organisationally.
